Tea Tree Crescent Project

Custom Curtains by MotzDesigns in Nova Natural and Custom Cushions by MotzDesigns In Chivasso fabric with Accent Cushion in Lempika Delaunay fabric Lounge from Loungelovers and accessories from Pillow Talk

About the Project

The brief was to create something that was warm, inviting, and homely, with a touch of style and sophistication with a dialogue of colour, pattern and textures influenced by the Hamptons.

The original floor coverings were carpets and tiles and were changed to natural Australian hardwood flooring throughout the home keeping consistency in each space and giving a feeling of unity.

As our client loves colour and pattern, Melissa persuaded them to go with Thibaut wall coverings in the Piano Room instead of plain colour, emphasising the harmonious creative space. Melissa wanted to bring the focal point to the feature wall with the antique piano bringing out its natural timber tones. The wall covering was chosen for its intricate stem detail complementing the candleholders on the piano. The velvet cushions on the Accent Chair were made by Melissa to complement and contrast the wall coverings. The curtains by MotzDesigns were kept neutral as Melissa was conscious of the natural light in the space and did not want to take the look away from the feature wall. The side table with accessories adds interest to the intricate detail of the space.

Our client requested the Master Bedroom to be feminine and luxurious with a touch of pink. It was her room to retreat to with having teenage boys. We chose Romo Wall coverings for the delicate floral pattern which are imitated in the accessories and soft off-white furnishings bringing cadence to the space. Dusky pink velvet cushions add softness in colour and texture while the geometric patterns of the feature cushion and quilt, add another layer of interest and keep it classic and cohesive. Melissa chose luxurious silver velvet curtains with blackout lining by MotzDesigns with brushed silver rods with finials.

At the heart of the home is a new stylish Hamptons Kitchen with Caesarstone bench tops, Timeless Grey Cabinetry with Butler’s Pantry, opening to a dining area that leads to sliding doors onto the outdoor entertaining area.

For the living room, which we now refer to as the ‘Blue’ room, our client wanted a happy, vibrant, and relaxed space that sits adjacent to the dining and kitchen spaces. The Blue room gives a Coastal vibe, with the artwork, textural soft furnishings, and organic elements. We decided to choose contrasting colours for the soft furnishings to enhance the space by picking up colours in the botanical prints that are framed sitting in a nearby space.

The window treatments in the dining room and the Blue room were kept neutral with a leafy pattern to give a relaxed vibe. Melissa followed through with the beautifully, brushed silver rods with finials that go throughout the home.

In the hallway, the client commissioned a custom-made Australian hardwood console table, which complements the botanical prints dotted throughout the home.

The front lounge lends a classic Hamptons look keeping it neutral with a soft Khroma striped wall covering.

The clients were very happy with the outcome.
