We’ll also discuss your favourite colours, patterns, and materials, all of which are like the paint and canvas that will bring your vision to life. Additionally, we’ll touch on your thoughts about hosting gatherings and guests in your home, as this greatly influences the design direction.
This comprehensive interior design service exploration takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, during which Melissa ensures that all your questions and concerns regarding the project are thoroughly addressed. It’s a dynamic and engaging process that forms the bedrock of our creative endeavour.
PHASE ONE – SITE EVALUATION & ANALYSIS
During this pivotal meeting, Melissa, works closely with you, to dive into the heart of your project’s essence.
Think of this meeting as the blueprint for our creative endeavours. Melissa meticulously gathers essential information and conducts a thorough analysis of your designated space. Together, we explore your budget preferences and the aesthetics that align with your vision.
This meeting sets the tone for the entire project, ensuring that we have a solid understanding of your aspirations from the very beginning.
PHASE TWO – CONCEPT (CREATING A DESIGN FOUNDATION)
Building upon the valuable insights gleaned from our initial meeting, Melissa embarks on an exhilarating journey of creative conceptualisation. This is where the magic truly starts to happen.
During this phase, we take the aspirations you’ve shared and the scope of the project and weave them into a coherent design concept. To ensure every aspect aligns seamlessly, Melissa may collaborate with relevant tradespeople. They assess the site, pinpoint potential challenges, and make sure everything dovetails perfectly with your goals and the agreed-upon timelines.
Throughout this stage, Melissa paints a vivid picture of her vision through visually compelling documentation. Mood boards are like visual stories that help you step into the intended atmosphere of your space. Melissa also crafts preliminary 2D-floor plans, considering spatial arrangements and any structural modifications that might be needed. Perspective drawings bring her design proposals to life in a way that’s easy to grasp.
In addition to this, we provide you with detailed Furniture, Fixtures, and Fittings (FF&E) Schedules, ensuring you’re fully informed and engaged in the process. This phase may require a few meetings to fine-tune the design brief, making sure every detail is just right.
Upon finalisation, you’ll receive a comprehensive set of visual materials that paint a complete picture of your future space. This includes sample boards that convey the room’s ambience, reflected ceiling plans that map out the lighting scheme, meticulously scaled 2D-floor plans showing furniture placement, lifelike 3D room models offering a realistic preview of your space, and precise scale elevations outlining custom-made joinery and furniture pieces. PHASE THREE – IMPLEMENTATION & INSTALLATION
Now, with the design foundation securely in place, we transition into the thrilling phase where concepts spring to life. This is where dreams take form.
As part of this full interior design service, Melissa takes the lead in coordinating the engagement of skilled contractors, ensuring material orders are placed, and managing all FF&E procurements to guarantee the project flows smoothly. Her regular site visits during the construction phase are the pulse of quality control, ensuring timelines are met and standards are maintained at the highest level.
This stage also involves the careful crafting of custom-made joinery and soft furnishings, all of which undergo your scrutiny through the approval of sampling.
As the building work reaches its culmination, the real fun begins. We curate and meticulously install all window treatments, soft furnishings, furniture, floor rugs, acquired items, artwork, and decor elements. This process transforms your space into a harmonious and captivating realisation of your original design brief. It’s the moment when your vision comes to life, and your unique story is told through the language of design.
