It’s often the details that make all the difference.

This custom cornice feature in our home started long before installation. To achieve a perfect fit, my husband carefully created a template of the curve so the piece could be made to the exact dimensions required. It’s one of those behind-the-scenes steps that often goes unnoticed, but it’s essential to achieving a seamless, high-quality result.

The cornice has now been installed, and I’m thrilled with how it’s come together. It softens the space beautifully and adds a bespoke architectural detail that feels like it has always belonged there.

This is also very much how I approach my client projects. Whether I’m designing custom joinery, furniture, soft furnishings, or bespoke detailing, careful planning, accurate documentation, and attention to detail are what allow a design to be executed successfully. Great design isn’t just about the finished result - it’s about the thought, precision, and problem-solving that happen behind the scenes to bring an idea to life.

The details matter. The planning matters. And the end result is always worth it.

To better frame the kitchen’s view over the rear garden, we’ve designed the servery windows wider and higher, creating a stronger connection to the outdoors.

There’s something incredibly special about renovating a home together… and even more meaningful when parts of it are handcrafted by the people living in it.

A little glimpse behind the scenes of our own renovation — the joinery stage, where the kitchen servery windows are currently stacked and waiting for paint and installation.

These have been handcrafted by my husband, and I already know they’re going to become one of my favourite features in the home.

There’s something rewarding about seeing thoughtful design and craftsmanship come together from the very beginning. Every detail has been considered to complement the character of our home and the way we live in it.

I’ve been reflecting on moments from my recent holiday in South America and was drawn back to these character-filled homes in Valparaiso - renowned for their bold colour and expressive street art.

While many of these homes embrace vibrant, high-impact palettes, what I find most inspiring is the confidence behind them - the willingness to create something personal and full of life.

In my own work, I often look at how that same feeling can be interpreted in a more refined and understated way - through curated artworks, a considered pop of colour at an entry, or softly layered, diluted tones across walls and finishes.

It’s less about replicating the intensity, and more about capturing the essence.

From concept to construction, every detail matters.

We’re currently in the process of making internal French doors and transom windows for our home.

My husband is crafting them - his joinery skills are incredible, even though he spends his days in the corporate world.

Our home has been a work in progress, slowly coming together one step at a time… and this is where I come in.

I design the spaces - reworking floor plans, creating elevations, and developing detailed 3D renders so every idea is thoughtfully resolved before it’s built, down to every measurement.

There’s something special about designing a home w

There’s something special about designing a home where scale becomes part of the story.

On the ground floor of this home, there was a large amount of space, so the size of the furnishings was paramount. Each piece needed to feel substantial enough to sit comfortably within the scale of the rooms, while still creating warmth and a sense of intimacy.

Layering textures, soft furnishings and carefully selected pieces throughout the home helped bring balance to the larger spaces, while the natural light moving through each room softened the overall feel and highlighted the beautiful details within the materials.

The twin bedroom was designed with texture in mind at every turn. From the bedside table and wallcoverings through to the soft furnishings, every element was carefully considered to create a calm and inviting space.

I sourced all of the fabrics, with the bedheads and cushions custom made to suit the room perfectly. A mix of soft whites and greens was layered through boucles, French corduroy, linens and textured weaves to bring depth without overwhelming the space.

These final layers are often what make a newly built or renovated home feel complete, bringing warmth, personality and a sense of connection to each space.
